Scanning and indexing:
In database
design, a list of keys (or keywords), each of which identifies a
unique record. Indices make it faster to find specific records and
to sort records by the index field -- that is, the field used to
identify each record.
To create an index for a database, or to find records using an index.
Imaging:
Document imaging is the practice of
capturing documents (usually by scanning) and storing them as
digital images. A complete digital document imaging system provides
the ability to capture, index, search, recall, view, and print
documents. Unlike most computer applications that can only store
information entered as binary data structured in their own special
format, an imaging system can store and retrieve any type of scanned
document regardless of how it was created (printed, typed,
hand-written, etc). An imaging system stores information (from
business cards to letters, forms, pictures, and even large maps and
drawings) as it exists in the real world.
Information stored digitally takes up a fraction of the space
consumed by paper. Large volumes of information can be accessed
instantly over a network or Internet, or it can be made portable
when published to CD or DVD disc libraries. Digitally stored
information can be securely backed-up to safeguard against loss of
information in the event that something happens to the original
documents
(BCP). A good imaging system can
also provide control over who can access and work with information
stored in it.
A good imaging solution is the foundation for future forms
processing and workflow functions. Imaging has many different uses
in virtually any business, regardless of type or size. A good
imaging system can be up and running with a minimum of customization
and training. An imaging system can be integrated to work with other
applications. As an application a good imaging solution usually
represents one of the easiest and fastest returns on your technology
investment.

Why AJD? |

|
 |
|
|
 |
|
AJD has become
one of the most sophisticated companies in providing
document storage and management. Our proprietary systems
provide our business partners with the best solutions for
retrieval of any document within seconds.
Microfilm,
microfiche and paper filled cabinets are costly and
inefficient methods of storage in this day of digital high
tech solutions. Viewing images from a desktop personal
computer, via network connection to a server, has become
standard practice for managing your documents. Our clients
can view their documents from any location in the world by
connecting to our server here at AJD. Our business partners
that have multiple worldwide branches view document 24 hours
a day, seven days a week.
The advantages
of digitally storing your documents allow a business to
expand with a nominal cost of doing business, as well as
being more efficient by performing a high level of customer
service. If you haven’t considered a
Business Continuity
Plan (BCP), a digitally stored document is easily duplicated
and backed up in the event of a disaster.
Managing data has become more affordable with the advances
and reduced costs of server systems. We can extract large
volumes of data and reconfigure the data into easily
retrievable reports. First, we break the file into logical
records each of which becomes a COLD Scan document with an
attached profile card. Second, to extract designated data
from each logical record and place it within pre
determined profile fields.
Digitally
storing your documents as images on a server eliminates the
high cost for equipment, storage expenses, human resources,
as well as the high cost of software and licences. This
expense reduces your capital expenditure and acts as a BCP.
We get you up and running within days not weeks and years.
